tickets were price 10-20 quid, so why would we offer much more?

Re: Empty Seats
On twitter someone posted they got offered £7 for their Block 127 ticket via the clubs ticket trader

At those prices they wont get listed and thousands will be empty

Re: Empty Seats
Every home game there have been about 2 thousand minimum empty seats where season tkts have been sold around the lower tier and alsk top tier obv not including the seats which ard not on sale.

Eggbert Nobacon 4:24 Mon Jan 9
Re: Empty Seats
have said before but for me we should do as in Germany and anyone with a Season ticket not used in a certain % of games loses it for the following season

would weasle out anyone that's bought just for the big games, or has extra kids tickets with no kids to go in them

JustAFatKevinDavies 4:21 Mon Jan 9
Re: Empty Seats
seriously? no one cares about those empty seats, they are up in the gods and everyone knows where they are.

The lower tier ones, that's the problem. Unless your saying all the gaps throughout the lower tier are for that reason as well

Re: Empty Seats
Lard ... we know that but read the article I posted

london1West Ham publish the official attendance and tickets sold after every game but the number is different to how many supporters actually turn up and go through turnstiles for matches.

There have been visible gaps around the London Stadium all season which have had many asking caused many to ask where the missing thousands are and why are they not turning up to Premier League matches.

The club and directors have claimed on social media it is because of 9,000 seats not being used in the 66,000 seater stadium but supporters don’t buy this as the majority of those seats are screened off.

Through a freedom of information request to Newham council for minutes of the Safety Advisory Group, Claretand Hugh has uncovered the true attendance of the early matches which is often many thousands less than the official sellout figures released.

West Ham v Juventus Friendly Official published attendance: 53,966 real attendance: 52,224. (1,742 did not turn up)

West Ham v Astra in Europa League Official published attendance: 56,932 real attendance: 51,817 (5,097 did not turn up)

West Ham v Domzale in Europa League Official published attendance: 53,914 real attendance: 51,000 (2,914 did not turn up)

West Ham v Bournemouth Official published attendance: 56,977 real attendance: 52,192 (4,785 did not turn up)

West Ham v Southampton Official published attendance:56,864 Real attendance reported as: 47,000 (9,864 did not turn up)

West Ham v Middlesbrough Official published attendance:56,945 Real attendance reported as : 47,000 (9,945 did not turn up)

In another Freedom of information inquiry Newham revealed how many free tickets have been given away to local residents.

West Ham v Domzale in Europa League. 1,739 tickets given away

West Ham v Bournemouth 50 tickets given away

West Ham v Astra in Europa League 1,502 tickets given away

saintsThe thousands missing each game is a spectator problem and questions need to be asked why so many of the season ticket holders bought seats which have no intention of using.

There should surely be a focus on around the ten thousand U16’s at £99 per season and the 8,000 band 5 at just £289.

The games listed above did not have the option of Ticket Exchange but similar gaps have been spotted at more recent Premier League games indicating it remains a problem.

The question is whether season ticket holders have a moral obligation to put their unused tickets on sale on the club’s Ticket exchange to allow others on the reported 52,000 waiting a chance of watching West Ham. Some will say it is my seat, I bought it, I can do what I want with it but that is a selfish view in my personal opinion.

Are you Johnson in disguise?, 3,000 of the empty seats are exactly as described in my post below, the covered seats total around 6,000 of the 9,000 seats that cannot currently be used

Re: Empty Seats
Lard, you bell end.

I think the empty seats people are referring to and are seeing are those in and amongst everyone else (yes you still get big blocks of them) and not those which haven't yet been approved as part of our official attendance.

Re: Empty Seats
Oh dear God, not another thread about empty seats???

The explanation is very simple.

the ground has 66,000 seats.

6000 of these are covered and will be so until next season.

of the 60,000 exposed seats we are licensed to use 57,000 currently leaving 3,000 apparently empty seats

if we stay trouble free we should get the license increased to 60,000 therefore no more empty seats

Simples

Re: Empty Seats
Fast train to Stratford from Shenfield (15 mins) should be actually running Saturday so expect less empty seats as I know lots of ST holders who cant be bothered getting the rail replacement to Newbury Park but will be going Saturday.

Doom-mongers going to hate that.

Hackney wick is a fantastic way to and from the game at the moment. It is going to just get busier and busier though. Barely anyone there after the first few matches. Much busier now.

Hackney Wick will be even quicker from next season - they are currently building a new ticket office and entrance that will cut 2 1/2 minutes off the walk to and from the stadium.

It's getting more and more popular as people realise how much quicker it is. When it gets really busy they sometimes stop you at the entrance if there's a train at the platform - it's to stop people holding the doors open for those still arriving so that the train can depart on time - no real difference to what they do at Euston. As soon as the train's gone they open up.

Fifth

I cut across the park, then go under the bridge on Carpenters Road, and then an immediate left down the side of the pub, which leads into a stretch of different named roads (Hutchins Cl, Gibbins Rd and then Wilmer Lea cl), and then do a left on to Jupp road. At the end of Jupp Rd there is a footbridge you walk over, which brings you out on to the other side of Stratford Station. Might make more sense when you look at Google maps!

I find it quicker, as no stop start, but i have noticed more people going this way now. Give it a go tonight. I also walk from Stratford Station to the ground via this route as well.

Re: Empty Seats
I have used PML and Hackney Wick merely to get into Stratford station ahead of the crowds ... with 3 kids it works for me.

Ps. I never used Upton Park station because of such queue and would have considered similar options if available.

I suppose. I haven't actually used Stratford on Matchday.

Re: Empty Seats
Why? Gets you into the station quicker than the queue (that was supposed to be non-existent).

Re: Empty Seats
I always use PML station, which feels a bit weird after walking down Green St so long. No chicken shops or African hairdressers. Just wilderness and railway bridges.

I notice that after the game, there's always a load of people waiting on the side going to Stratford, which seems a bit fucking lazy..
